Dawn Market buys leather the way its founder's grandmother bought fish: early, in whatever quantity is going, from people she knows.
The studio works exclusively from offcut hides sourced from three furniture makers in Qingdao. This sets the design constraint — no panel may exceed the size of a reliably available scrap — and the bags are built from many small pieces rather than few large ones.
Each bag carries a stamped batch number. Two bags from the same batch are similar. Two bags from different batches are not.
