Rèn Collective

Rèn is not a brand in the ordinary sense. Six designers in Guangzhou share a studio, a fabric account and a pattern library of about ninety blocks, and each releases under the collective's name.

The rule is simple: you may use any block in the library, and anything you draft goes back into it. The result is a catalogue that looks like six people rather than one, held together by construction rather than aesthetics.

It is the most argumentative studio LePont works with, and — not coincidentally — the fastest-moving.
